Documentary Palaces: Puzzle Card Game
Similar as the Re-Shaping Nature project Documentary Palaces project was also developed in cooperation with the Max-Planck-Institute of Animal Behavior and the Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behavior, University of Konstanz. Furthermore we teamed up with the Herd Hover Project.
The two main topics are the design principals of visualization and the artistic experimentation with scientific data.
I was given different sets of information and data about different prey animals from Kenia. I chose to work with Thomson Gazelles this time.
A Gazelles most important task is not becoming dinner. This card game deals with Predator-Prey Interactions and Anti-Predator behavior. It is designed by me, in cooperation with Blair Costelloe from the Herd Hover Project.
This Game contains 35 playing cards. Each card consists of an illustration, a short description and colored rectangles. To reveal the story about the life of Thomson Gazelles you have to place the cards in the right order. You can check if the cards are placed correctly by the resulting squares. Colors and rectangles must be matching. If you are stuck while placing the cards, read the informative pages for a step-by-step instruction.
